Iconic Pinup Model Dies at 85

Today, more than 50 years after her career as a pinup model ended, the name and image of Bettie Page are still as well known as ever they were to rockabilly rebels, light bondage enthusiasts, and the women who make up roughly 102% of the fan-base of “burlesque” entertainment.

Yesterday, Bettie made headlines again when she died after her family took her off the life support she had been on since her heart attack earlier this month.

In the 1950s, Bettie had a career as a pinup model, appearing in men’s magazines like Playboy and posing for the nudie pics of “camera club” photographers.

Actress Admits to First Encountering the Primal Scene on the TV Screen

British babe Kate Beckinsale recalls the mortification she felt as a 10-year-old child when her mother, television star Judy Loe got naked on TV and gave the entire 60 million strong population of the United Kingdom a look at her naughty bits.

"The mortification of going to school! People said, 'I've seen your mother naked.' I literally had to beat up nine of them," recounts Kate.

Now that Kate’s own daughter Lily Mo is nearing the age when Kate saw her mom naked on television, the actress is foreswearing on-screen nudity.

Luckily for Beckinsale-admirer Kevin Sorbo and others like him, Kate has already got some pretty good skin scenes in the can (so to speak).

Mena Suvari and Bond Girl Caterina Murino Appear Nude in Trailer for Upcoming Hemingway Adaptation The Garden of Eden

After her early nude appearance in the Oscar-winning film American Beauty, it looked as if Mena Suvari would go the way of costar Thora Birch, who has kept her budding branches covered in clothing ever since. But then came last year's Stuck, which got viewers sticky thanks to Mena's T&A-baring turn. And Mr Skin is still eagerly awaiting the release (so we all can release) of The Mysteries of Pittsburgh, which finds both Mena and Sienna Miller revealing their tits-burghs.

But today Mr Skin has discovered even more toplessness on the horizon for Mena in her role as Catherine in The Garden of Eden, based on Ernest Hemingway's unfinished novel of the same name. IMDb recaps the story:

Set in the jazz age years, prior to the depression, the story follows a successful young American writer, David Bourne, and his beautiful new wife, Catherine, on their extended honeymoon in Europe. Catherine soon becomes restless and starts to tests her husband's devotion, pushing him to the limits of her imagination. Already unsure of the games his wife is playing, David is both uncomfortable and curious when she brings a sultry Italian girl, Marita, to spice things up. As the erotic game reaches new levels, the events that follow will change their lives forever.

As an added bonus, Marita is played by Caterina Murino, recently seen in Casino Royale, who also appears nude in the film and shares in Sapphic moments with Mena. Mr Skin appreciates Mena and Caterina offering up some ripe, juicy apples to tempt all comers to The Garden of Eden!

Rumor has it that Ghost World star Thora Birch's upcoming movie Winter of Frozen Dreams (2008), in which she plays a college student who works at a massage parlor and murders people on the side, contains not only some intense sex scenes (witnessed, reportedly, by her father), but also a helping full frontal nudity from the top-heavy hottie. I haven't seen pictures yet, but the word is that Ms. Birch bares boobs and bush. As always, I'll stay on top of this story and as soon as I get clips or pics, I'll put them on the site for everyone to enjoy. Skinterestingly, it seems like Winter of Frozen Dreams is actually going to be pretty hot!
