The Upper Hand

The Upper Hand is a British sitcom that ran from 1990 to 1996. If it looks familiar to the American readers of this review that would be because it is. The show is based on our sitcom Who’s the Boss? Usually the influence comes from the other direction, from the British Invasion to All in the Family, so it’s nice to see the English take up our shows and hopefully improve them. You know, they do have far more nudity on their small screens than we do, but sadly this family comedy dispenses with that grand tradition. It’s a tease, though, with talent such as Diana Weston, Honor Blackman, Kellie Bright and Patricia Brake in the cast.
