The River Wild (1994)

The River Wild (1994) is about a river that’s wild, but you knew that. It stars Meryl Streep, not as the river, but as a mother and former river guide taking her 10-year-old son on a whitewater trip for his birthday. You know, a game counsel would have been sufficient. Of course there are a bunch of bad guys also taking a rafting trip at the same time, so you know that means trouble. Not for Meryl, though, as her performance got her a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress, maybe because there’s a possible nipple visible underwater in one scene and several wild pokies. Your river will flow strongly.
