How far will a motivated and dedicated squad of high-school pep girls go to ensure that their football team scores big? If it’s still the golden age of 1970s drive-in plot logic and these female promoters of school spirit are the titular temptresses of The Pom Pom Girls (1976), then count on the gals to give their bare-bottomed, jiggle-jugged best! Before he moved on to darker and more dramatic stuff like Sleeping with the Enemy (1991), Joseph Rube wrote and directed this breezy tale of two football players, Johnnie and Jessie (Robert Carradine and Michael Mullins), who spend their days drinking, driving, and doing whichever hot cheerleader they decide to spend the night with. It's senior year in this teensploitation flick, and our gang of future grads are looking to go out with a bang. From pulling pranks on their teachers and the rival high school, to making sure the football coach knows they're not gonna let him boss them around anymore, these kids plan to rule the school. The only problem is, since Johnnie is dating his ex-girlfriend, the local ruffian Duane (Bill Adler) has it out for our hero. Soon enough, we're playing chicken to see who gets to keep the gal. In a twisted storyline that will appeal to heavily favored athletes everywhere, The Pom Pom Girls plot to weaken the players on their alma mater’s opposing team by luring the jocks into strength-sapping sexual situations. Being set up to be a loser has never seemed like such a winning proposition! Highlights of the film include seeing Jennifer Ashley's ass and pink nips, Diane Lee Hart's hard on inducing hooters, Cheryl Smith's cans and Lisa Reeves' rack all in one glorious locker room scene.
