The Missionary (1982)

A naïve missionary is called back form Africa to minister to prostitutes in The Missionary (1982). When Charles Fortescu (Michael Palin) receives his scintillating new ass-ignment, he’s hoping that his fiancée (Phoebe Nicholls) will object and save him from the tawdry temptation of commingling with hookers. But she’s even more naïve than he is, and encourages him to go out and save the streetwalkers from their lives of sin. On top of that, his wealthy benefactor (Maggie Smith) quickly makes it clear that if he wants money for his mission, he’s going to have to earn it the (really, really) old-fashioned way- in the missionary position! How will this man of the cloth handle his newfound status as a ladies’ man? If only Mr. Skin had such problems!
