The Lone Gunmen

No Nudity

Review

The Lone Gunmen was a short-lived spin-off of every geek’s favorite Sunday night show, the X-Files. The trio of dorky gunmen first appeared on that show in 1994 as associates of Agent Mulder (David Duchovny) and consisted of Byers (Bruce Harwood), Frohike (Tom Braidwood), and Langly (Dean Haglund). The lads, who ran a conspiracy theory newsletter on the side, were always willing to help “Spooky” Mulder out whenever he needed a bit of obscure netlore or required some illegal hacking to forward the case. The gunmen were favored characters on the show and their frequent guest appearances were always a welcome source of comic relief. In their opinion, everything was an elaborate government plot--and of course they were usually right. In an eerie coincidence, the pilot episode (which aired in March of 2001) centered on a terrorist plot to crash a plane into the World Trade Center.  Although its parent show enjoyed a healthy run, The Lone Gunmen was cancelled after one season. Its demise can be attributed to a number of causes, including a weak Friday night time slot, substandard writing, the fact that the three quirky characters probably weren’t strong enough to carry a show on their own, and of course, a government conspiracy. The show also featured the awe-striking olive-skinned brunette Zuleikha Robinson as Yves Adele Harlow, a gorgeous hacker who is the gunmen's primary competition and sometimes-ally. Although this stunning girl has yet to make an entry in the MrSkin Files, there was no shortage of tight, revealing clothes for her to wear in The Lone Gunmen’s wardrobe department.
