After the success of Roman Polanski’s horror hit Rosemary’s Baby (1968), the world became a scary place. In 1970 alone, Spain saw Jesús Franco’s Dracula; Italian audiences applauded Dario Argento’s The Bird with the Crystal Plumage; French film fans flocked to Claude Mulot’s The Blood Rose; Freddie Francis entertained Brits with Trog; and Japanese movie goers saw Teruo Ishii’s Blind Woman’s Curse. Also that year, Janusz Majewski’s Lokis was released in Poland as was Michael Armstrong’s Mark of the Devil in West Germany, while Daniel Haller ensured Americans had a super time watching the supernatural thriller The Dunwich Horror. Based on an H.P. Lovecraft short story, the latter pic may seem dated by its excess of psychedelic lighting, but it boasts the only skinematic nudity from Gidget (1959) star Sandra Dee! The R-rated chiller diller has the blonde babe playing a young virgin. What else did you expect? Only in this tale, her tail is earmarked for Satan. Yes, the alluring innocent is meant to be his bride. As such, Sandra makes us horny little devils when she exposes a bit of her bare breast during a groping scene. Granted, the flesh flash is fast but that’s what freeze frame is for. The film also features Dean Stockwell, Talia Shire (credited as Talia Coppola), and Donna Baccala’s beautiful body! As a damsel in distress (and out of dress), she reveals her rack while thrashing around in a mental hospital. In other words, Donna will scream your ear off while getting you off!
