The Dogfighters (1996)

The career soldier’s work life is fraught with danger both on the field of battle and from antagonists all the way up the chain of command. Rugged tough guy Robert Davi turns on his testosterone-saturated, pock-marked charm as a Desert Storm hero in The Zone (1996). The conquering warrior comes home and confronts the unpleasant reality that a cunning CIA commander has framed him for a murder he did not commit. Though amoral, the CIA boss is not completely evil. The leverage of the frame is applied to enlist Davi’s character in a plot to locate and destroy a nuclear processing plant owned by a rich, nasty genius who is in fact unremittingly evil. After surviving a gauntlet of fistfights, chases, explosions and flailing breasts, Davi saves the world and lives to glower another day.
