The Carol Burnett Show

Only one year removed from the failed experiment known as Carol & Company, the beloved comedienne was back in 1991 with another, more traditional, offering. Using the original title of her most adored program, this one featured the likes of Andrea Martin, Robert Townsend and Bernadette Peters - yet the show still didn’t take off. (Has anyone had more failed TV shows than Carol Burnett? No disrespect but let’s be honest here.) Chalk it up to the ‘humor generation gap’ but Carol’s never been able to duplicate the brilliance of her original series but since that one was so damn funny she’s an easy gal to forgive.
