The Brighter Day

"Our years are as the falling leaves. We live, we love, we dream, and then we go. But somehow, we keep hoping that our dreams come true on that brighter day." These words opened the daytime serial, The Brighter Day, which ran from 1954 until 1962. Set in the small Midwest town of New Hope, it followed the adventures of the Dennis family, headed up by Rev. Richard (Blair Davies). Audiences watched as Richard’s daughter Althea (Brook Byron) aspired to make it as an actress and her weirdo brother Grayling (Hal Holbrook)… didn’t.
