The 24 Hour Woman

The 24 Hour Woman (1999)

Brief Nudity

Review

Rosie Perez is a busy broad whose life is thrown into a tizzy by a baby-to-be in The 24 Hour Woman (1999), writer-director Nancy Savoca's feature follow-up to Household Saints (1993). Radiant Rosie has a job on TV, hosting a talk show on a local New York station. Because the show is targeted toward women, her executive producer (Patti LuPone) thinks she's hit paydirt when she learns that the host is preggo (and co-host-with-the-most Karen Duffy spills the baby beans on the air). Patti decides to make Rosie's swelling belly a regular feature, but Rosie isn't as overjoyed with the coming bundle of joy as her bosses and her viewers. She's got a lot to think about—not only is her own career path suddenly full of obstacles, her hubby's acting career is looking a little queer as well. Can Rosie keep it together, or will everything go to hell?
