Teen Wolf (1985)

Adolescence is a tough enough time for normal kids. Imagine the emotional turmoil and social insecurities that would be unleashed if the typical high schooler’s hormonal surge were to exceed the unsettling averages to such an extent that the kid were to wake up one morning to discover that he had transformed as if overnight into an actual monster. The suddenly afflicted hero of Teen Wolf (1985) has far more serious considerations to contend with than a quavering voice box and a pizza-fied face. He has come down with an acute case of lycanthropy. As a werewolf, the lad is endowed with superior athletic ability and his prowess at tracking and engaging the female of the species is greatly enhanced. He nails the girl and he wins the basketball glory. What could possibly be the downside? Maybe it’s the specter of shaving his shoulders and back for the rest of his life, but the poor sap wishes he could go back to being one of the normal kids.
