Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas (2005)

Based on a bestseller by James Patterson, the three-hankie weeper Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas (2005) stars Kathleen Rose Perkins as a book editor whose life unravels after getting abruptly dumped by her longtime writer boyfriend (Johnathon Schaech). After the breakup, Kate (Perkins) learns of her husband’s sordid past, which is told in gauzy flashback by director Richard Friedenberg. The film’s a made-for-TV job, which puts a damper on the amount of skin that can be shown, but costar Christina Applegate pushes the envelope a bit in her role as the writer’s sultry, prematurely deceased ex-lover.
