Suzanne (1980)

Women never learn, and they certainly didn’t know any better back in the 1950s. The eponymous Suzanne (1980) is an attractive lass who has plenty of options available despite her parents being working-class poor in the era of duck tails, hot rods, and rumbles. A nice studious boy with staid but secure prospects seeks her hand, but silly Suzanne pledges that appendage and so much more to a trouble-bound lout who uses her, abuses her, and leaves her to pick up her own mess. Seemingly smart in other ways, Suzanne fails to see how any other man will ever make her so happy again. Can the scholarly lad from so long ago help to pull the aging ingénue’s head from the rose-colored clouds?
