Sunday (1997)

Film actresses are not, according to informed sources, generally perceived as the most emotionally stable segment of the female working population, especially not if the on-screen performer has enjoyed some measure of celebrity and has since then passed into the thickening years of declining age. This perception will be not at all dispelled by the female lead of Sunday (1997), nor by her erratic, compulsive, self-involved, needy behavior. She recognizes a very famous movie director in a man the rest of the world sees as a wandering bum, and she abducts him for a meal and a round of cold sex. Her husband and her kid happen along, and a child’s party is attended. The weekend appears to have descended into madness, although the lapsed actress seems to consider the disorienting afternoon to be just like any other Sunday.
