The success of Trainspotting (1996) gave director Danny Boyle the freedom to play around a bit, and Strumpet (2001) is a fine testament to the British bloke’s creativity. Punk-rock girl Strumpet (Genna G) rebounds from a frightening attack by shacking up with an idiosyncratic street poet (Christopher Eccleston). Before long the pair are writing songs and taking aim at the big time. When she’s not hiding behind her guitar, Genna sticks her chest out front and center--a mighty sweet treat.
