One of the toughest things in the world for an actress to do is make the transition from the adult industry into mainstream films. Buxom Welsh beauty Sophie Dee is bucking that trend and breaking down the barriers that tend to separate the two worlds. Sophie's humble beginnings have also led her to maintain a completely positive attitude, which spills over into everything she does. She first came to the attention of the Brits when she appeared as a Page Three girl in The Sun for close to two years. She came to California in 2005, and almost overnight, became a sensation in the adult film industry! After dominating the industry for eight years, she's now made the leap to mainstream stardom with roles in The Hungover Games, A Haunted House 2, and even the Fox sitcom New Girl! She even has her own site, ToplessMovieReviews.com where, you guessed it, topless women review movies. We sat down with Sophie to talk about her past, her future, and everything in between.

Skin Central: What was the first movie and/or TV nude scene you remember seeing and how big of an impact did that have on you?

Sophie Dee: One of the first I remember was Sixteen Candles when I was around 10. There was a scene of a woman showering that I remember thinking looked hot. (ed. She’s referring to Haviland Morris’ famous shower scene, though those ta-tas belong to a body double).

MORRIS

SC: You made 63 films in 2006. That’s more than one a week. How do you find the time to make so many movies?

SD: Those movies were not exactly Gone With The Wind and are usually efficiently shot.

SC: With close to 500 credits to your name, I think you’ve even managed to be in more movies than Eric Roberts. Do you have a favorite film of yours?

SD: Milk Nymphos by Jay Sin. I don't know about Eric, but I'll take on Emma Roberts any day.

SC: Coming to America from England, do you find that, despite your tremendous success in this industry, Americans have a more puritanical view of sex here than across the pond?

SD: Overall yes, in England nudity has always seemed more mainstream with topless girls in mainstream newspapers and nudity on basic cable television. America has been catching up but still has a way to go.

SC: How do you think your work on the site ToplessMovieReviews.com differs from or even compliments a site like Mr. Skin?

SD: I like to think that ToplessMovieReviews compliments Mr. Skin. Mr. Skin highlights great female nudity in mainstream films and ToplessMovieReviews has sexy topless women reviewing mainstream films.

SC: Your mainstream work includes A Haunted House 2 and The Hungover Games, and you also did a lot of XXX spoof films. Do you find that comedies easier than drama or horror or any of the other genres you’ve worked in?

SD: I do think comedy is slightly easier because it is easier to be yourself and act goofy without caring too much. Horror is also fun to do, I love scary movies. I'm trying to get more into working on drama but it is tougher to do.

WildThings

SC: Do you have a favorite nude scene from a mainstream Hollywood film, preferably one you’re not involved in?

SD: I love Wild Things. The threesome scene is very hot, and Denise Richards and Neve Campbell looked great in it.

SC: Do you find that you’ve had a hard time transitioning to mainstream films after working in the adult film industry?

SD: Not too much. There's a few differences with auditioning and things like that, but overall it's been pretty similar except most people keep their clothes on.

SC: Are you peers in the adult film industry envious of the success you’ve achieved in mainstream films and television?

SD: Not that I know of.

SC: Who are some of the hottest actresses working in Hollywood right now, and is there anyone you’re just dying to work with?

SD: Keira Knightly, Megan Fox, Rachel Bilson.

SC: What’s up next for you, at least on the mainstream side of the dial?

SD: A Haunted House 2 and Bad Asses were just released. I am currently shooting a new crime/action movie that I can't say too much about that should be out late this year.

SC: Knowing all that you know now, if you could go back in time, what advice would you give to your 18 year old self?

SD: Do whatever you believe in and don't let anyone else get in the way of what you want to do.
