It's that time of year again when Amazon rolls out a bunch of new pilots for potential new original series and allows its users to vote on which ones should go to series. We've got the skinny on the six new series, along with our odds on whether or not we'll see any nudity in them!
First up is the period drama Z based on the life of Zelda Sayre Fitzgerald, the wife of author F. Scott Fitzgerald and the face of the flapper movement! Christina Ricci plays Zelda, and she has spent the last decade shedding her clothes on film, most recently in 2012's Bel Ami! The series also stars Jamie Anne Allman, who showed some scintillating side boob in 2004's The Notebook, but has yet to go nude on film.
Based on the type of show and the cast, we'd say the odds of seeing nudity on this series are 5/10
The political thriller The Patriot doesn't have a single cast member that's done nudity. Kathleen Munroe and Meghan Heffern have both appeared on film in their bras, but neither has done nudity on film, and this doesn't seem like the kind of show that would have a ton of skin.
Based on this and the fact that most political dramas don't tend to include nuditythe first season of Homeland being the exception that proves the rulewe're gonna give this show a 1/10
From executive producers Louis C.K. and Diablo Cody comes the semi-autobiographical Untitled Tig Notaro Project which may or may not end up being titled One Mississippi. This one's got a dearth of actresses who've done nudity, the exception being Casey Wilson who bared her ass twice in 2013's Ass Backwards!
We're going to make an optimistic leap and say that Casey pulls a Gaby Hoffmann in Transparent, injecting lots of skin into this new series and give this one a 6/10
The dramedy Highston from executive producer Sacha Baron Cohen and Oscar-nominated writer Bob Nelson (Nebraska) doesn't have much in the way of nudity veterans in the main cast, with Mary Lynn Rajskub's underwear scene from 24 coming the closest.
Like last year's other coming of age Amazon pilot Red Oaks, however, we think this one might bring us some nudecomers, so we're going to cross our fingers and give this one a 5/10
We're betting big on another period drama, The Good Girls Revolt. This Mad Men-esque drama follows several female journalists who were at the center of 1969's sexual revolution and stars such nudity veterans as Anna Camp, Joy Bryant, and Grace Gummer, all of whom just went nude last year in Goodbye to All That, About Last Night, and The Homesman respectively.
Based on that pedigree, as well as the show's subject matter, and we think this is your best bet at a 9/10
The biggest question mark of all has to be the new series Edge starring Yvonne Strahovski. Yvonne has never gone nude on film, though she did come close during her time on Dexter.
However, she's the only female in the show's cast of this violent western, so we have to pin all of our hopes on her making her nude debut. Amazon pilots are indeed a great place for nude debuts, as Leslie Bibb proved earlier this year in Salem Rogers. Still we're gonna be conservative and place this show's nudity odds at 3/10
