Not Even All The Nudity Could Save The Show

Well, it’s time to bid a fond farewell to the HBO Original SeriesVinyl. I’m a little sad to report the show has been canceled after only one season. Good-bye, Vinyl is was fun while it lasted.

Though it might not come as a shock to many people that Vinyl didn’t make it past the first season, but a number of factors led to its downfall. While the show lived up to its awesome nudity expectations, everything else… not so much. Of course the project seemed doomed when the series creator, Terrence Winter, wasn’t going to come back for season two. Even though they found a new showrunner, HBO pulled the plug anyway.

“After careful consideration, we have decided not to proceed with a second season of Vinyl,” HBO said in a statement. “Obviously, this was not an easy decision. We have enormous respect for the creative team and cast for their hard work and passion on this project.”

If you ask me, I think the show should have focused more on the music of the 1970s instead of all the other subplots they had going on. But, with that being said, I really didn’t miss an episode. How could one not watch a show with Juno Temple being topless a lot and Olivia Wilde wearing the greatest merkin of all time?

Saying good-bye is never easy, especially when saying good-bye means not seeing a nude Olivia Wilde on your television. But, it was a good ride, Vinyl. Thanks for the music and the merkin.
