We're getting geared up for our Q&A with legendary B-movie queen Sybil Danning TONIGHT at Chicago's Music Box Theatre, and frankly when we look over Sybil's long and frequently nude body of work, we're starting to get a little nervous. What if she gets mad and puts us in a choke hold when we ask her about the much-maligned Howling II: Your Sister Is a Werewolf (1985)? Even worse-- what if the whole Amazon alpha-bitch thing is just an act, and she's really just a sweet Austrian lady who likes to bake pies and knit baby booties for local orphans? No, no there's no way...
Sybil's illustrious nude career started all the way back in 1971, when she went full frontal for a girl/girl scene in The Long Swift Sword of Siegfried.
She starred in a long series of sexploitation flicks throughout the '70s, but she really came into her own as battle queen Saint-Exmin in the (sadly non-nude) Battle Beyond the Stars (1980). This led to a series of ball-busting roles like queen bee Erika in Chained Heat (1983)...
sexy, sadistic prison camp warden Angel (seen here getting her mudflaps massaged) in Jungle Warriors (1984)...
Stirba the Werewolf Bitch in Howling 2: Your Sister is a Werewolf (1985)...
and one of the strangest teen sex comedies of all time, They're Playing with Fire (1984), starring Sybil as a predatory professor who seduces a male student:
And who could forget Sybil Danning's Video Adventures? We can't even begin to tell you how many crappy (and Sybil-less!) action movies we rented based on Sybil's picture on the box, but her sexy outfits in the intros made the bait-and-switch sting just a little bit less:
After 1989's Amazon Women on the Moon, Sybil kept a low profile until 2007, when director Rob Zombie pulled her from semi-retirement for a role in his Grindhouse trailer Werewolf Women of the SS and for a small role as Nurse Wynn in the re-make of Halloween (2007).
