Mr. Skin’s DVD Pick of the Week

The Girlfriend Experience (2009)Blu-Ray
STUDIO: Magnolia
NUDE: Sasha Grey (FFN, butt)
Drop-dead-gorgeous next-generation porn star Sasha Grey, best known for work in movies like Anal Cavity Search 6 (2008), Swallow My Squirt 4 (2006), and Anal Acrobats 3 (2008), went mainstream in Steven Soderbergh’s The Girlfriend Experience (2009). Sasha plays a high-class hooker in Manhattan who tries to deal with her business and her boyfriend against the backdrop of the 2008 presidential election. Don’t expect gonzo porn, but do expect to see Sasha’s boobs and a little bit of bush. GFE? Yes. A2M? No.

Albino Farm (2009)
STUDIO: MTI
NUDE: Bianca Barnett (breasts), Alicia Lagano (body doublebreasts)
Former Howard Stern intern, heavy metal drummer, and horror fanatic Richard Christy co-stars in the fright flick Albino Farm (2009). The movie’s plot follows four college students as they explore the Ozark Mountains, where they stumble upon Shiloh, a small town inhabited by a clan of sadistic freaks led by wrestler Chris Jericho. While they’re in Shiloh, check out the silos of Bianca Barnett and Alicia Lagano’s body double. They'll make a hillbilly out of you.

Mortel transfert (2000)
STUDIO: Cinema libre
NUDE: Estelle Desanges (breasts, butt), Hlne de Fougerolles (breasts), Ovidie (breasts), Valentina Sauca (FFN, butt)
A shrink makes the dangerous mistake of falling asleep on the job in Jean-Jacques Beineix’s astute French thriller Mortel transfert (2000). Jean-Hugues Anglade plays an overworked psychoanalyst who takes a catnap during a session with a patient and wakes up to find her dead. Instead of making the reasonable decision to go to the police, Anglade’s character gets himself in hotter water by covering up the mysterious crime, all while trying to get to the bottom of what might have happened to the sex-obsessed kleptomaniac woman who died in his office. Beineix certainly owes a debt to the Master of Suspense for this one, though Hitchcock never pushed the skin envelope with this much aplomb. Ovidie, Estelle Desanges, Hlne de Fougerolles, and Valentina Sauca all work hard to spice up the proceedings with ravishing reveals of Gallic flesh.

Billy Jack (1971)Blu-Ray
STUDIO: Image
NUDE: Cisse Cameron (breasts), Delores Taylor (FFN, butt)
Billy Jack (1971) is not exactly prime jacking material, but it stands tall as one of the most successful low-budget indies of all time. Tom Laughlin reprises his role from The Born Losers (1967) as a half-Indian, ex-Green Beret, fully kick-ass pacifist. Laughlin's real-life wife, Delores Taylor, plays Billy Jack's earth-mother squeeze, who's an alternative school teacher in a small New Mexico town. Billy Jack keeps the local rednecks from running rampant over the school's proto-alterna-kids, many of whom are hot, barely covered hippie chicks in the lush bloom of free-lovin' youth. Luckily, Billy Jack is expert in martial arts and unable to keep his blood lust down. Word to the wise: Don't pour flour on a beautiful brown-skinned flower child in Billy Jack's presence.

Filth and Wisdom (2008)
STUDIO: IFC
NUDE: Francesca Kingdon, Holly Weston (breasts)
Madonna’s directorial debut, Filth and Wisdom (2008) stars Eugene Hutz, lead singer of the rock group Gogol Bordello, as A.K., a rock singer and SM dominator. He also rents an apartment to innocent Brit babes Juliette (Vicky McLure) and Holly (Holly Weston), whom he talks into becoming a stripper at a local club. Sadly, the strippers at this club never actually get naked, preferring to keep their bikini tops on as they dance. Holly does briefly flash her left knocker as she’s crying in a public toilet though. When it comes to strippers, there’s no wisdom in leaving out the filth.

Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer (1986)Blu-Ray
STUDIO: MPI
NUDE: Mary Demas (breasts, butt), Lisa Temple (breasts)
Director John McNaughton's bone-chilling descent into the mind of a murderer, Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer (1986) is a bruising experience inspired in part by the real-life brutality of career criminals Henry Lee Lucas and Otis Toole. The titular psycho is masterfully embodied here by powerhouse actor Michael Rooker as a man of simple, grim determination. He lives to take the lives of others. Lanky Tom Towles plays Henry's even more unhinged pal Otis. They deal death as a duo with such horrible credibility that the film was initially rated X simply for its "overall tone." Momentary relief comes in the form of some naked female bodies but, then again, they're dead naked female bodies. So proceed with caution. Or glee. Whatever turns you on, man.

The Hills Run Red (2009)
STUDIO: Warner Bros.
NUDE: Sophie Monk (breasts)
The slasher flick The Hills Run Red (2009) stars Tad Hilgenbrink as Tyler, a horror fan obsessed with a legendary depraved grindhouse movie that was never released because the director disappeared while filming. As he tries to track down the film, Tyler finds the director’s daughter (Sophie Monk), now a stung-out stripper, and then finds, unfortunately for him, the psychotic killer who inspired the movie. Aside from the gore, the movie also features Sophie’s awesome rackage and a topless scene with Janet Montgomery. The hills run nude!

The New York Ripper (1982)Blu-Ray
STUDIO: Blue Underground
NUDE: Alexandra Delli Colli (FFN, butt), Daniela Doria (FFN, butt), Zora Kerova (FFN, butt), Cinzia de Ponti (breasts)
The New York Ripper (1982) is an electrifying, flesh-and-blood-sopped masterwork by Italian splatter maestro Lucio Fulci (Zombie, A Lizard in a Woman's Skin). Jack Hedley stars as a frazzled NYPD detective who's on the trail of a killer who taunts him via phone calls made in a Donald Duck voice. Between quacks, the villain rips gorgeous women to scarlet smithereens in scenes of elegantly executed, robustly repulsive violence. While the bodies pile up, we're also treated to enough knockout female nudity to convince viewers that there really are eight million stories in the naked city. New York Ripper is a trip, sir.

Traffik: Remastered 20th Anniversary Edition (1989)
STUDIO: Acorn Media
NUDE: Lindsay Duncan (FFN), Julia Ormond (butt)
Despite the poor spelling, yes, Traffik is the basis for the correctly titled movie of the (sort of) same name. But turn of phrase aside, it’s better to spend your precious viewing time with this British mini-series than the watered-down American version. The epic deals with the drug trade in Pakistan and how everyone from gangsters and cops to philanthropic millionaires and their trophy wives are affected by the evil poppy plant. But while both versions are gritty in their realism, only the TV one actually has the guts to show a full-frontal, full-cavity search that exposes the intoxicating body of Lindsay Duncan. There are other bare bits displayed too, which is sure to make audiences high. Say no to drugs but yes to skin!
