Sinatra

Sinatra (1988)

Great Nudity!

Review

Alfredo Landa is Sinatra (1988), a down-on-his luck fella who lives in a flophouse in Barcelona and makes his living impersonating Ol' Blue Eyes in a dingy cabaret. His life is as wretched as Frank Sinatra's was fabulous, and he rubs elbows with weird, weathered characters like horndog hotel owner Luis Ciges, troubled teener Maribel Verdú (who may or may not have a bun in her scrumptious oven), and his fellow impersonators of long-dead luminaries like Groucho Marx and Marilyn Monroe. But as shabby as Al's existence gets, his story is full of sweaterpets, which is the way it should be for any movie named after Frankie. Maribel bares her bells, Queta Claver gets skintimate with the camera, and Ana Obregón shares both tush and tadzookas in Sinatra.
