Director Jeff Broadstreet lifts the curtain on the sordid backstage realities of B-movie film shoots in the sly sub-industry horror spoof Sexbomb (1989). Robert Quarry stars as King Faraday, a Roger Corman-style drive-in guru who’s in the midst of shooting a pair of shameless epics––I Rip Your Flesh with Pliers and Werewolves in Heat––when he discovers that his wife wants him dead. Candy Faraday (Delia Sheppard) very cleverly uses the shooting as an opportunity for catching her hubby unawares, and King discovers that it’s difficult separating horror fantasy from reality. There’s certainly nothing sobering about the voluptuous frames of costars Nancy Bridgeford, Monique De Anna, Kim Scolari, Delia Sheppard, and scream queen Linnea Quigley, who lure King and his viewers into a false but very welcome sense of security.
