Writer-director Claude Berri stars in this French comedy as a sexually repressed bookstore owner who decides to toss out the lit and open up a Sex-shop (1973). His sex life's a desert, so he's certainly no expert—his wife (Juliet Berto) is as frigid as snow (and doesn't seem to be into the whole "motherhood" thing either). All Juliet likes to do is shop, and there's not much opportunity to make shopping hot. But making his shop hot is something Claude can do, and soon he's replaced the dusty old bookstore with bondage gear and porno and sex toys galore. Into his life then comes Nathalie Delon, a sexually courageous customer who puts the juice in Claude's berries. Come on, Claude, now's the time to come into your own! Claude's no clod, so he decides to follow his (wet) dreams and give swinging a try. But can he talk Juliet into joining him for an erotic adventure or two, or will the old lady come up dry?
