Sex and a Girl (2001)

Some things go together naturally and are always best in combination, which is the case of Sex and a Girl (2001), which brings into conjunction the experimental mores of liberal parenting in the 1970s and the sexual awakening of a teenage girl who wants nothing more than to attend the Juilliard School for the Performing Arts. Perhaps the budding dance student also desires a modicum of unconditional affection from a responsible adult. Her own hippie-dippie mom and dad have ridden the free-love train to divorce cutoff, and where’s a girl to look for a loving hand, if not to the paws of Mom’s ex-lover? In the illicit afterglow of having seduced Mama’s castoff, the comedy of Sex and a Girl is put to the test.
