Award-winning Japanese actress Ryoko Hirosue was born in Kochi on the island of Shikoku, but one look at the short haired hottie and you'll think she was crafted in a lab that pumps out fresh faced pop stars who radiate an energetic allure. Ryoko got her start as both a model and J pop star as a teenager, and soon turned her success in those realms to an acting career. Right out of the gate, Ryoko landed a starring role in Long Vacation as a sixteen year old. She moved on to movies like 20-seiki nosutarujia (1997) and played Arisu Tsuchiya on the teen drama Seija no koushin, before landing the role that gave her all sorts of acclaim: Makoto Izumi on the bed and breakfast comedy Beach Boys. Proclaimed the Japanese Academy Awards' "Newcomer of the Year" after that one, Ryoko became a full blown movie star, and was soon spicing up foreign flicks like the French action comedy Wasabi (2001) and putting Japanese cinema on the Western map via Departures (2008) which took home the "Best Foreign Language Film" Oscar. We think the reason American critics were so eager to see that one was because the Asian eyeful showed off her panties as her husband pulled down her pants. Ryoko is still acting in stuff like Love X Doc (2018), and Step (2020), while also staring as Mizuki Sawa on the Japanese cop drama Cherry Blossoms Tower.
