Mel Brooks is a comic genius. He can mount any genre and ride it easily into humorous territory, as is evident in Robin Hood: Men in Tights (1993), which not only spoofs the legend but also the Kevin Costner epic Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991). The film is naturally filled with hee-larious jokes, but, as mentioned before, Brooks’s genius is complementing the yuks with yummies, such as Amy Yasbeck as Maid Marian. Her leggy performance is both a knee-slapper and a pants-pleaser. Amy is sure to make even Little John big with pleasure.
