She not only played a princess on the big screen, but Carrie Fisher was Hollywood royalty. The daughter of Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher, Carrie has now gone on to join her father for that big curtain call in the sky.

2016 has been an awful year for celebrity deaths. We've lost so many icons this year, and news just prior to Christmas that Carrie had suffered a heart attack while on board a planesent a collective chill down the spine of sci-fi/fantasy fans the world over. While it seemed like she was going to recover, news just came down that she lost her battle and has shuffled off this mortal coil.

She stole our hearts so many times on screen, it's impossible to count. She got her first speaking role when she was only 18 and played Lorna in Hal Ashby's Shampoo! Then of course came Star Wars, but beyond Princess Leia, Carrie was no one trick pony. She came damn close to stealing The Blues Brothers away from everyone else in the film, gave a brilliant performance in Woody Allen's Hannah and Her Sisters, and got most of the best lines in When Harry Met Sally. And none of this is to mention her amazing work as a writer!

While she never went nude on screen, she did show off her amazing body in her undies in such films as the criminally underratedUnder the Rainbow, The Man with One Red Shoe, and of course, who could forget her metal bikini from Return of the Jedi?
