Made-for-TV Riot (1997), aired originally on Showtime, tells four tales of Los Angeles after the Rodney King verdict. The first vignette, "Gold Mountain," follows an Asian teener who can't get over the meanness he sees in people who despise his old-world shopkeeping family. "Caught in the Fever" depicts a day in the life of a trio of Latino laddies who get caught up in looting and find out it isn't all that fun after all; meanwhile, Luke Perry, star of the third story, "Empty," is a copper with a racist streak who finds himself manning the street when the verdict comes down. He's got to get himself home in one piece so he can get another piece of Lucy Liu, his Liu-minous lady who'll make your blood riot and your nightstick hard when she bares her underwear. The final story, "Homecoming," finds Mario Van Peebles returning to his old hood to visit his ma, only to find looters rooting through the store his dad died defending years before.
