Biography

Long hair, big eyes, pouty lips, an hourglass figure and a knack for acting are all assets of Quentin Dean. Alas, she did not possess longevity in her career nor in her life. Born Quintin Corinne Margolin in the City of Angels, the sexy starlet rose to fame in the 1960s yet passed away while still in her 50s. Mind you, we’re not here to bury Quentin but to praise her. Specifically, we’d like to spotlight the gorgeous ingénue’s debut in Norman Jewison’s Academy Award winner In the Heat of the Night (1967). In addition to featuring Sidney Poitier’s famous line, “They call me Mister Tibbs,” the movie showcases Quentin’s curves! “They call her Mistress T...” Indeed, Ms. Dean’s portrayal of the pretty teen Delores Purdy put the thrills into this mystery thriller — especially when the skintastic stunner flashes her flesh through a window. In fact, fans are treated to a peek at part of her naked peaks! No wonder she scored a Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Too bad there wasn’t a category for Best Gravity-Defying Breasts Partially Seen Yet Obscured By A Window Pane. Following her highly-praised performance, the youthful beauty made a few more films. She also landed guest spots on popular TV shows, including The Big Valley (1967), The Virginian (1968) and The Mod Squad (1969). Quentin made her final appearance on the CBS Western Lancer (1969), before Steve Hart and the Cadillac Angels recorded “The Ballad of Quentin Dean” in 2014. RIP PYT!
