Anthony Perkins reprises one of the most memorable roles in movie history with the belated Psycho II (1983). Made more than two decades after Alfred Hitchcock changed the face of movies forever with the original Psycho (1960), Richard Franklin’s better-than-expected sequel follows Norman Bates (Perkins) as he emerges from psychiatric counseling and tries to make his way in the world. Marion Crane’s sister Lila (Vera Miles) fiercely opposes the killer’s release, and when murders start occurring again around the Bates residence, it begins to seem like her objections have some merit. Also boasting merit: Meg Tilly’s sizzling body. The actress plays a third Crane sister who doesn’t learn her lesson by staying out of the shower.
