High-priced scalpel-slinger Melina Kanakaredes has had it with Beverly Hills—she's headed home to Providence to be with the fam. There she moves into the suburban abode that houses her dad, brother, sister, her sister's baby, her dad's veterinary clinic—oh, and sometimes her overbearing mom's chain-smoking spirit (Concetta Tomei) stops by for a visit. With her new job at the free clinic and a frazzled family to keep together, Melina's got a lot on her plate, but with gumption and advice from ma, she just might make it.
