Prosti (2002)

Filipino cinema got a shot in the arm with the screen debut of Aubrey Miles in Prosti (2002), a hard-hitting look at the realities of life in the Manila sex industry. Miles floored audiences with her performance as a young prostitute who mixes business with pleasure by falling head-over-heels for her pimp (Jay Manalo). Director Erik Matti never wavers in his commitment to portraying the brothels as they really are, and the result is a dutifully realistic film that caused heaps of controversy in the Philippines. True to their roles, Miles and co-star Hazel Espinosa spend much of the film wearing scantily little as they experience varying levels of passion and violence.
