Prime Suspect 1 (1991)

One of the UK's most critically acclaimed TV shows of the 90's kicked off with a fifteen episode miniseries called Prime Suspect 1 (1991). The British television miniseries that led to a longrunning TV show and even a prequel revolved around Detective Chief Inspector Jane Tennison (Helen Mirren), a well-respected female DCI who has never headed a murder investigation, largely due to her gender. When another DCI suffers a heart attack and all other available options are working on something else, Tennison takes over his investigation into the death of a prostitute. But no matter how hard she works or what she uncovers in her investigation, Jane is met with hostility by her team and resistance from her superiors, and even some doubts about her capabilities coming from home. Hoping to shatter the glass ceiling and set the standard for the female detectives that succeed her, Jane knows she desperately needs to succeed in figuring out who murdered the hooker. But it's not going to be easy to overcome these odds and deliver a prime suspect in the murder investigation when facing the possibility that failure to deliver the good means she'll never be given a gig like this, again. One of the suspects in her investigation is played by Theatre legend Zoe Wannamaker, and in one terrific scene, Zoe goes topless, baring her bitty bumps when putting on a shirt. We wanna make it with her! It's by far the most memorable moment of the entire series, thanks in no small part to Wannamaker's small parts! Prime Suspect will leave your pecker wrecked!
