U.K. babe Phoebe Nicholls was born to be in show biz. That’s because her parents are actor Anthony Nicholls and actress Faith Kent. For the record, Phoebe’s husband is director Charles Sturridge and their son is actor Tom Sturridge. But back when she was a youth, the emerging ingénue kicked off her career as a child actress. After making her film debut in The Pumpkin Eater (1964) alongside Anne Bancroft and Maggie Smith, Phoebe played Oliver Reed’s little sister in Ken Russell’s skintastic flick Women in Love (1969) featuring Glenda Jackson, Jennie Linden, and Eleanor Bron. Once Ms. Nicholls grew up and out, the busy brunette appeared in David Lynch’s The Elephant Man (1980); the chiller diller Tales of the Unexpected (1982); and the Agatha Christie mystery Ordeal by Innocence (1984), among other productions. The pretty performer also popped up in Shackleton (2002), the biopic with Kenneth Branagh as the man who survived an expedition to the South Pole in 1914.
