Paradise Lost (1999)

God help us if we grow so dim of sight and mind that we are unable to keep track of something so large as all the kingdom of heaven. The narrative thrust of Paradise Lost (1999) asks the tough questions, such as: "Where did we put the Garden of Eden? We had it here a second ago." The rain forest is generally thought to be as close to Adam and Eve's old stomping grounds as we, their descendants, are apt to see in our lifetimes. So why is there always some short-sighted developer popping up with a plan to defoliate the green nirvana and put up a shopping oasis? Drama and conflict arise when a passionate lady Ph.D. deduces that the area's ancient peoples perished soon after implementing a very similar program of slash-and-burn capitalism. Will the trees and bushes be preserved, or will the curses of the ancients be released upon a whole new tribe of transgressors?
