C'mon, you didn't think Scarlett Johansson would unzip her catsuit for The Avengers, did you? Alas, our Whack-It Bracket champion Scarlett is as skingy as she is sexy, so we're just going to have to make do with that skin-tight costume. (Or those leaked nude pics of her. You know the ones.)

Things are looking up on DVD and Blu-ray, as this year's Anatomy Award Winner for Best TV Series, Game of Boners- oh, sorry, Game of Thrones- hits DVD and Blu-ray. But that's not the only example of outstanding skinema on Blu-ray this week: Striptease (1996) and 9 1/2 Weeks (1986) are both getting the HD treatment, as is the director's cut of Reindeer Games (2000), featuring a nude Charlize Theron.

Plus, Nudity Hall-of-Famer Elena Anaya deftly straddles the line between creepy and sexy (among other things) in the arthouse horror flick The Skin I Live In (2011), nude on DVD and Blu-ray.

Golden Globes... and golden fleece! This year's nominees for the Golden Globes were announced, and the nods include plenty of talent... and skin! Rooney Mara proves that flashing flesh will get you awards, while mainstays like Charlize Theron and Kate Winslet dominate. Check out our list of this year's Globes nominees who have gotten naked. Ian Christe is king of the metalheads. We know it's hard to hear, headbangers, and we're sure your record collection is appropriately trv, but this guy wrote the book. Literally. His book Sound of the Beast: The Complete Headbanging History of Heavy Metal, first published in 2003, contains over 400 pages of hard-rocking history and has been translated into German, Czech, Finnish, French, Japanese, and Spanish, among others (more on that later).

Ian has since translated his incredible knowledge of all things heavy into the popular Sirius Satellite Radio show Bloody Roots, where every week he "preaches a lesson in heavy metal heritage, with inside stories and tons of rare music from all of metal's many subspecies," and Bazillion Points Books, which published Swedish Sensationsfilms earlier this year (read our interview with author Daniel Ekeroth here) and next year will bring Heavy Metal Movies to life with our own Mike McBeardo.

The nominees for this year's Golden Globes were announced this morning in Hollywood, and for Skin fans it was a confirmation that, for onscreen nudity, cable is where (t)it's at.

Out of this year's Best Picture nominees, only My Week with Marilyn featured nudity (and that was a body double), but the Best Actress in a Motion Picture category fared somewhat better. Rooney Mara was nominated for her nude turn in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (details coming next week) along with Glenn Close for the gender-bending drama Albert Nobbs (which you probably haven't heard of, but is nude on Mr. Skin!). Plus, The Skin I Live In, featuring Elena Anaya nude, was also nominated for Best Foreign Language Feature.

Meanwhile in the TV categories, all five of the Best Television Series- Drama nominees featured nudity (or at least Alexandra Breckenridge in a French maid outfit): American Horror Story, Boardwalk Empire, Boss, Game of Thrones, and Homeland all received nods, and are all nude at Mr. Skin. Interestingly, however, none of the Best Actress nominees in the TV categories were also nominudes [nude in the role they were nominated for- SC], save for Kate Winslet and Evan Rachel Wood, who were nominated for their highly pierce-able performances in Mildred Pierce.

In typical Hollywood style, producers are now hoping to cash in on the craze for supernatural story lines (a category that now includes fairy tales, Greek myths, campfire legends, Balinese shadow puppets, email chain letters, and characters from the back of cereal boxes) with not one, but two, takes on the Snow White myth.

For Skin Central's money, it'd be hard to top Edwige Fenech's full-frontal, fairy tale-themed Sapphic photo shoot in La Pretora (1976), but let's rub down the challengers anyway.

The first, Snow White and the Huntsman, reinvents the fairy tale as a fantasy action flick with a hint of nu-metal flavor (think Game of Thrones meets an Evanescence video), with Charlize Theron as the evil queen and Kristen Stewart as Snow White in knight drag.

The second, Mirror Mirror, goes for a frothier, more farcical approach, with Julia Roberts playing the quippy evil queen to Lily Collins' heroic Snow White.

But which fair princess takes the cake (or the apple) in the nudity department? Find out after the jump!

Happy Halloween, everybody! We're kicking off a fun evening of gorging on candy and scaring trick-or-treaters with the final girl (well, the final two girls) in Mr. Skin's Top 10 Horror Movie Nude Scenes. These scream queens represent the absolute breast in fright flick nudity, so if you can't find something to jack your lantern here, you'd better check your pulse...because you MIGHT ALREADY BE DEAD!
