In typical Hollywood style, producers are now hoping to cash in on the craze for supernatural story lines (a category that now includes fairy tales, Greek myths, campfire legends, Balinese shadow puppets, email chain letters, and characters from the back of cereal boxes) with not one, but two, takes on the Snow White myth.

For Skin Central's money, it'd be hard to top Edwige Fenech's full-frontal, fairy tale-themed Sapphic photo shoot in La Pretora (1976), but let's rub down the challengers anyway.

The first, Snow White and the Huntsman, reinvents the fairy tale as a fantasy action flick with a hint of nu-metal flavor (think Game of Thrones meets an Evanescence video), with Charlize Theron as the evil queen and Kristen Stewart as Snow White in knight drag.

The second, Mirror Mirror, goes for a frothier, more farcical approach, with Julia Roberts playing the quippy evil queen to Lily Collins' heroic Snow White.

But which fair princess takes the cake (or the apple) in the nudity department? Find out after the jump!

1988 was a year of nude beginnings, with the film debuts of future silver screen stars Annette Bening, Uma Thurman, Juliette Lewis, Julianne Moore, and Julia Roberts. That's a lotta Julies! But these lovely ladies are far from the only actresses to light up the silver screen in 1988...and not even close to the nakedest.

Director Ken Russell was already known for his bawdy, elaborately staged tributes to the decadent European aristocracy (see: Lisztomania) when he directed Crimes of Passion, which makes 80's LA look just as sinful as the court of Louis the XIV- but with a lot more neon.

Crimes of Passion stars Kathleen Turner at the height of her whiskey-voiced hotness as straight-laced architect Joanna, who moonlights as kinky hooker China Blue. Anthony Perkins is full of creepy skintensity as the pervy priest who stalks China Blue, with Bruce Davidson as her other stalker- and unlikely hero.


Crimes of Passion tanked critically and at the box office, but has since become a cult classic thanks to its over-the-top tone and its bizarre sex scenes, including Kathleen penetrating a kinky cop with his own night stick and a vibrator named Superman. Kathleen Turner's cute little chest muffins and amazing turkey timer nipples come out to play in three topless scenes worth every moment you'll skinvest in this movie.

Though he is considerably less bald and golden, Mr. Skin has at least one thing in common with Mr. Oscar: an abiding love of onscreen ladies of the night. Common sense in Tinseltown states that if an actress wants the gods of the Academy to smile upon her, she should play a stripper, a hooker, or a nun. We here at Skin Central are biased towards the strippers and the hookers (though nuns aren’t always so bad), so we're turning on the red light for this skinspiratonal sampling of actresses who’ve gone from walking the streets to walking the red carpet.

Perhaps the most famous cinema call girl is Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman (1990). Julia charmed the Academy into a Best Actress nom after charming Richard Gere out of his pants as the ultimate hooker with a heart of gold. Body double Shelly Michelle serves most of the skin in this flick, but in one scene Jules lets a definite nip slip while rolling in the sack.

Elisabeth Shue also works hard for her money- hard enough to win an Oscar for her performance as a streetwalker in Leaving Las Vegas (1996). The scene where she pours Nicholas Cage a tequila body shot in the desert sun still has Mr. Skin all hot and bothered.

Way back in her Hanoi Jane days, Jane Fonda got liberated as a happy hooker in Klute (1971)- and got a little gold man for her trouble. Most of Jane’s nudity in the film is woefully under-lit, but her nice perky lil’ right nip pops up in this well-lit scene.

More recently, Marisa Tomei took off her top to pay the bills in The Wrestler (2008). Mr. Skin thought that Marissa’s hooters were rays of sunshine in the otherwise relentlessly downbeat film, and the Academy must have agreed, since they rewarded her with an Oscar nom.

Grab a handful of sweaty bills, because we've barely stroked the tip of the nude iceberg of skinema sex work, and Mr. Skin is gonna make it rain!

Vampire fever has got a hold on Hollywood. True Blood is wiping the floor with the boob tube competition, Twilight is a major moneymaker, in spite of being frustratingly non-nude, and even the parody flick Vampires Suck (2010) cleaned up at the box office this weekend, beating new offerings from sweethearts Jennifer Aniston and Julia Roberts.

In fact, Hollywood Reporter claims that the vampire craze has brought an incredible $7 billion to the movie industry, a fact that skin-shy Jen and Julia should note.

Just look at Anna Paquin--not a peep of nudity until she took the role of Sookie Stackhouse in the HBO vamp series True Blood. Now she's dropping her clothes at the drop of a hat, and her career has never been hotter!

Mr. Skin has always been a huge fan of the bloodsucking genre, and we're very slappy that the rest of the world is recognizing the ap-peel of a sexy night creature that penetrates, sucks, and drains. Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992) will turn you into a Bram Stroker with naked Sadie Frost and Monica Bellucci, and Kate Beckinsale doesn't suck when she shows her butt in Underworld: Evolution (2006).
