Lordy, lordy, look who's 40!

There must have been something in the water back in 1972, because the women that year produced are stunningly hot... and willing to show it off. From Sofia Vergara to Carmen Electra, these soon-to-be 40-year-olds prove that 40 is the new sexy.

Skin Central's number is about 9 1/2 (ok, ok, more like 5 3/4) this week as a couple of exciting nude releases hit DVD and Blu-ray. First, we've got the fine period pieces (of ass) Gretchen Mol, Paz de la Huerta, Kelly MacDonald and Alexis Palladino on Boardwalk Empire, Season 1, and then we've get the first-ever boob-baring scene from funny lady Anna Faris in the rom-com What's Your Number? (2011).

Plus, empty your six-shooter with the deadly dames of Killer Elite (2011), nude on DVD-and Blu-ray, and Wanted (2008), nude and tattooed on Blu-ray.

TV writers are always looking for edgy, attention grabbing material, and it appears that this year they've settled on incest as the shock tactic du jour.

After an exceptionally incestuous first season of Game of Thrones, where Lena Headley and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau play identical twins with a twincestuous bent (seen in action at left) and a nude Emilia Clarke was presented to her brother for skinspection in the first episode, cable's been exploding with incest storylines.

[WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD] This season Jimmy (Michael Pitt)'s twisted relationship with his mom Gillian (Gretchen Mol) on Boardwalk Empire was revealed to be the result of mother-son sex, and Bored to Death closed its season with star Jason Schwartzman finding out his new lover Isla Fisher is also his half-sister...and continuing to date her anyway. Throw in Deb (Jennifer Carpenter)'s dirty dream about her (adopted) brother Dexter (Michael C. Hall) on this week's Dexter, and you've got a regular orgy of familial fornication.

So what's behind the incest trend? Creators and executives say there's been little moral outcry from viewers, and HBO exec Michael Lombardo tells The New York Times it's just the last taboo to titillate an increasingly jaded audience:

“[HBO's writers] are interested in exploring the outer reaches of human experience and how it affects the way we live.” he says, adding: “I think they’re going to be drawn to areas that are rife with conflict and drama.”

Skinterestingly, Lombardo adds that he didn't notice the connection until it was pointed out by reporters, saying:“I have to start scratching my head and going, ‘Wow, how did I miss that?' I’m so cynical, nothing shocks me now.”

It was a week for nude blood on old favorites Boardwalk Empire and Boss this weekend on the boob tube, as usual jug-spects Gretchen Mol and Kathleen Robertson stepped aside for some unsupported udders from braless supporting players.

First Hannah Ware exposed her suckle stalk for a skinterracial scene on Boss, and then Julianne Nicholson let her sweater puppies out to play on Boardwalk Empire as an uptight prosecutor who's much more relaxed in the sack. This is Julianne's first Boardwalk nude scene, but she's certainly no stranger to skin- just check out her wooly full frontal in the movie Flannel Pajamas (2005).
