In a skinteresting development, veteran character actor Donald Sutherland has vehemently denied new reports about his sex scene with Julie Christie in the 1973 thriller Don't Look Now. As we reported Thursday on the Mr. Skin blog, the new book by former Paramount executive Peter Bart alleges that Donald and Julie were actually playing hide the sausage in the skinfamous scene. In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, Sutherland strongly denies Bart's story, saying:

"Peter Bart mendaciously writes that he witnessed the shooting of the love scene in Don't Look Now and saw sex. Not true. None of it. Not the sex. Not him witnessing it. From beginning to end, there were four people in that room. [Director] Nic Roeg, [DP] Tony Richmond, Julie Christie and me. No one else. Wires under the locked door led outside, and this was 20 years before video monitors."

Producer Peter Katz, who co-owns the negative to Don't Look Now, also chimed in, saying, "While there was a sex scene captured on film, it was not a scene that would lead to the creation of a human being."

So...it was in her butt?

Don't Look Now wasn't the first time that Donald was lucky enough to act alongside a nubile naked lady, and it certainly wouldn't be the last. Check out some of Sutherland's most seductive costars from the swingin' 70's after the jump!

According to the new book Infamous Players: A Tale of Movies, the Mob, (and Sex), Julie Christie and Donald Sutherland weren't just showing off their acting chops when they got down and dirty in the supernatural thriller Don't Look Now(1973).

The book's author, Peter Bart, who was a Paramount executive at the time, visited Don't Look Now's Venice set on the day the sexy scene was filmed. Bart's attention was briefly distracted as filming began, and when he looked back, both Christie and Sutherland were completely naked and no longer playing pretend:

"It was clear to me they were no longer simply acting: they were f*cking on camera," Bart writes in his book.

According to Bart, a few months later a furious Warren Beatty, who was dating Christie at the time, stormed into Bart's office demanding that the scene be cut. He had seen director Nicholas Roeg's cut of the film, which was so graphic that Julie's juice box was clearly visible.

"I want to cut the movie with you, p*ssy hair by p*ssy hair..." Beatty reportedly told Bart.

And now, according to the new list of the 100 Best British Films from Time Out compiled by 150 experts including Sam Mendes, Wes Anderson and Sally Hawkins, Nicolas Roeg's Don't Look Now is the best British film of all time.

The 1973 thriller, which features a fully nude Julie Christie doing a non-simulated sex scene with Donald Sutherland, has long been in the Mr. Skin Hall of Fame.

About the pronouncement, director Roeg said of the skinfamous sex scene: "For me, sex is very rarely rude. It's a fresh thing. Sex, whether you like it or not, is the prime force of life. There is no other reason to be here."

No other reason we can think of.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (part 1) came out on Friday, and it's the sexiest Harry Potter yet. Which isn't really saying much, since it's a series for children, but Deathly Hallows features a dream sequence in which hottie Hermione, Emma Watson, has a steamy makeout session with Harry, and shows some CGI side boobage.
