Of course creaky old CBS was the last of the "big three" boob tube networks to announce their fall schedule- save for its Monday night comedies, CBS has been skewing towards the gray-haired set since Angela Landsbury was solving murders on Cabot Cove. But the formula has been working well for the network, which isn't making any huge changes, save for slowly phasing out its CSI franchise.

First the good news- we'll be ogling Cobie Smulders and Alyson Hannigan on How I Met Your Mother well into 2012, and the parade of Charlie Sheen- er, Ashton Kutcher's- conquests on Two and a Half Men will continue unabated. Plus, it's still bikini season on Hawaii 5-0- the series was picked up for another season. Far chillier are the prospects for Shit My Dad Says and The Defenders, which were both canceled.

In the new-to-DVD flick, statuesque Leelee Sobieski stars as a recently-graduated film student who is hired to edit a porno. But like Zach and Miri Make a Porno (2008), the main gal might be shy, but the adult players step in to nobly do the dirty work.

Stanley Kubrick's posthumous erotic odyssey Eyes Wide Shut debuts in theaters on this date in 1999.

After laboring for years on the sex-driven Tom Cruise-Nicole Kidman thriller Eyes Wide Shut, master filmmaker Stanley Kubrick never lived to see the flesh-intensive fruits if his labors light up movie screens. He died on March 7, 1999.

The movie opened to mixed reviews for its unhurried pacing and occasionally meandering plot, which chronicles Cruise spelunking into the sexual underbelly of New York City over the course of a single night away from home.

Still, there is no debating the power of Nicole in the nude, not to mention standout nakedness from Julienne Davis and, as a mysterious figure who leads our hero into an orgy loaded with uncredited females in the buff, Abigail Good.

In the late 1990s, the big screen was dominated by a new crop of barely legal, honey-haired hotties like Menu Suvari, Erika Christensen, and Julia Stiles. Luscious Leelee Sobieski was the member of that group that really caught my attention--not just because of her major talent, but also her major cleavage! We got a distant, darkish peek at Leelee's Ds in The Idol (2002), but obviously, that wasn't good enough for me. So I was happy to read an interview with B-movie beauty Christa Campbell on Movies Online in which she claims that she AND Leelee get raw for their flick! She says,

"I just finished a movie called Finding Bliss. It's a comedy about the porn industry. We all have nude scenes in the movie including Leelee (Sobieski). It was completely necessary for the story. But sometimes we'd all sit around and be like, did we just film that? Are we going to regret this in a week? We were joking around about it a lot. But when you trust the director and know they have a vision and have a comfort in the dynamic and why you're doing it, then you're willing to take that risk."

I agree, Christa--a porn industry comedy is definitely a genre that would absolutely require nudity. Talk about putting the "poon" in "lampoon"!
