North Shore

North Shore (2004)

No Nudity

Review

Decades before HBO was wringing the drama out of a Hawaiian beach resort in The White Lotus, it was Fox who attempted the same with their short-lived nighttime soap North Shore. Debuting in 2004 and lasting just seven months, the show followed the guests and staff of the Oahu's fictional Grand Waimea Hotel, an exclusive getaway where the rich and powerful go to play. Jason Matthews (Kristoffer Polaha)is busy running the place when his ex-lady, Nicole Booth (Brooke Burns), drops back into his lap as the hotel's director of guest relations. Can they work together without getting back together? Maybe, since her rich daddy hated the idea of her dating this working class schlub, and Nicole is now engaged to a handsome new fella (Josh Hopkins) who's been killing it in the world of finance. Throw in a lifeguard trying to make it as a pro surfer (Corey Sevier), a former con artist (Amanda Righetti) torn between keeping her concierge gig and scamming all the rich dudes she comes into contact with constantly, and even a young Jason Mamoa slinging drinks as the coolest bartender this side of Ted Lange, and this one had some serious potential it failed to live up to. But it didn't have any nudity! Instead, it just had all sorts of hotties killing it in their bikinis! From TV vets like Shannen Dohrety and Leighton Meester, to future big screen stars like Joe Dirt's (2001) Brandy, Brittany Daniel, all the way to women who'd become better known for their work on better TV shows than this one, like Friday Night Lights star Adrianne Palicki, North Shore was stacked with stacked talent! It's a shame these beach babes bouncing their barely contained pairs, weren't enough to keep the show on air! Mr. Skin was always happy to watch North Shore with his pants on the floor!
