Nelle Tue Mani (2007) is an Italian film that asks an interesting question: Does the human brain shut down in moments of romantic passion? Following an astrophysicist who falls in love with a mysterious traveler and believes she has helped him prove that our brains do indeed shut down for passion, he wonders if love is really worth the sacrifice.

Of course you can't experiment with passion without sex.
