Murder One

No Nudity

Review

The highly acclaimed crime-drama Murder One was based on a rather risky premise since the entire first season dealt with the solution of one single murder. However, it quickly became clear that there was nothing to worry about since the series not only received good ratings but also various awards which included three Emmys (for guest star Pruitt Taylor Vince, the show's art direction, and Mike Post’s catchy title theme). Nevertheless the producers opted to alter the outline of the story for the second season by having their main protagonists working on various cases. This turned out to be not the smartest move since the ratings subsequently went down causing Murder One to be cancelled after its forty-first episode in May 1997. The original story centered on the prominent Los Angeles defense attorney Theodore Hoffman (Daniel Benzali) and his staff. Their big day comes when the drug-addicted actor Neil Avedon (Jason Gedrick) gets arrested for murder and subsequently asks them for help. In terms of nudity, none to be found, but Murder One unites a lot of female talent which can be seen in all its glory in other productions. The most generous among those ladies is undoubtedly Bobbie Phillips who already showed off her robo-hooters on various occasions. However, the only movie that also features some screentime for the brunette’s neatly trimmed beaver is the German-Canadian co-production The Hustle. In addition there is Bobbie’s co-star Linda Carlson who opted to do her first and apparently last nude scene at the tender age of forty-seven in 1992’s The Pickle which contained a little bit of toplessness. It may not be the nicest set on the planet, but you simply have to applaud the lady for the effort, right?
