Why is it that movies about headshrinkers do just the opposite to the little head? Certainly, that’s the case with Mumford (1999), which is about a psychiatrist who quietly unlocks the hidden desires of the new town he moves into. The flick is chockfull of crazy cuties, such as Zooey Deschanel as a wacky teenager. But the doctor is in . . . luck with a trio of tawdry tramps who add some skin to analyze. Hélène Cardona, Simone Kerrick, and Lucie Laurier all have bit parts that show off their bit parts, which could fill a text book. Let’s call it The Interpretation of Wet Dreams.
