Two Legendary Entertainers Have Passed on, But They Left a Legacy of Skin

Mr. Skin is deeply saddened by the passing this weekend of one of Chicago’s favorite sons, comedian and TV star Bernie Mac, as well legendary composer, musician, and actor Isaac Hayes.

Mac is best known for his roles in House Party 3, the Spike Lee- produced documentary The Original Kings of Comedy, Ocean’s Eleven, and his hit sitcom, The Bernie Mac Show.

Fans will remember Hayes’s work as the voice of Chef in South Park as well as for his musical accomplishments, most notably the instantly recognizable soundtrack for the blaxploitation classic Shaft.

But Mr. Skin will also remember Bernie Mac for his involvement in the skin-filled urban comedy How to Be a Player, featuring topless swimsuit model Amber Smith, and for his role as Dollar Bill in The Players Club. And Isaac Hayes will always have Mr. Skin’s admiration for starring opposite a topless Annik Borel and a sexy Nichelle Nichols (Star Trek's Uhura) as the eponymous former football player and bounty hunter in Truck Turner.

Goodbye my friends. The world is sadder without you, but better for having had you.
