Marriage is an all-but-untenable union simply in the connection of a loving man and his faithful wife. Toss in an overbearing, prejudiced, mean-spirited, castrating old crone who is loath to let her baby boy escape her clutches for the warm, saucy embrace of cuddling bombshell Jennifer Lopez, and you’ve got a case of irreconcilable Monster-in-Law (2005). Sunny moons Lopez has finally found true love after too many years of blind dates, blowhards, and boneheads. The only catch is her new fiancé’s certifiably insane mom. The aged witch (Jane Fonda) determines to employ her every crazed wile to sabotage the engagement. But when it comes to A-list she-alphas, two can play at cat-fighting lunacy.
