The cumulative on-the-job pressure endured by our nation's air-traffic controllers is the stuff of legendary meltdowns, none more grievous than the nuclear crackup that befalls the jet plane-wrangling hero of Modern Problems (1981) when his car is doused with radioactive waste. As if a workaday regimen of staring at glowing green radar screens is not stress enough, now the frazzled schlub has developed the powers of telekinesis. Perhaps this troubling development can be turned to the traffic controller's best interests when he bunks in for a beach-house weekend with his mate, his former mate, and a voodoo princess. Then again, the worn loser's newfound powers--he is after all played by prize pratfaller Chevy Chase--are just as likely to trigger unmitigated disaster.
