A prolific actress in her native South Korea, Mi-Ran Ra made her debut in the crime drama movie Lady Vengeance (2005), playing the part of Su-hee Oh. The movie is a South Korean look at what happens to a woman who, after 13-1/2 years wrongly imprisoned for kidnapping and murder, tries to fix her life. It’s all about revenge, although Mi-Ran’s character is more interested in sexy pool time, and a nice underwater shot of her perky rear ensues. Next up for the actress were multiple small parts in big-screen films, before entering the TV zone as Ebo Deuk-ne in the television series The Duo in 2011, Young-gul’s Employee in Fashion King in 2012, Yoon Gong-Ja in the popular You’re My Favorite from 2012-2013, Baek Na Rae in A Witch’s Love in 2014, Ra Mi Ran in Reply 1988 from 2015-2016, Hong Do-hee in Avengers Social Club in 2017, Park Seong-soon in Black Dog in 2019-2020, and Bossam Widow in Bossam: Steal the Fate in 2021, among others. The dark-haired dish has also conquered the movie theatre, appearing in the monster-from-a-river horror The Host(2006); in drama Dance Town (2010) as Jung-Nim Rhee; in the family comedy Dancing Queen (2012) as Myung-ae; as Young-suk’s Mother in the drama Hope (2013); in comedy-drama Wonderful Nightmare (2015) as Mi-Sun; Myeong-ae, Cho in The Himalayas (2015); as Bok-Sun in the biography drama The Last Princess(2016), based upon the life of the last princess in Korea’s last royal family in 1912; Lee Hwa-Ian in drama High Society (2018); and as politician Joo Sang-Sook in the comedy Honest Candidate (2020).
