What is it about redheads that makes them so fine and funny? Ever since Lucille Ball won the hearts of American couch potatoes, ginger-haired hotties have been spicing up films and TV. There’s Kathy Griffin, Debra Messing, Jenna Fischer and Michelle Wolf, to name a few. Equally comical and cute is actress and comedian Maria Thayer. Minnesota’s Apple Valley High School homecoming queen studied at Juilliard in New York before scoring a recurring role on the crime drama Big Apple (2001). Yet not before she landed the part of Tammi Littlenut, best friend and sometime love interest of Amy Sedaris, on the Comedy Central series Strangers with Candy (1999-2000). The show had such a following, Maria reprised her character in a film version (2005) of the same name. Speaking of movies, the appealing ingenue flashed her flesh in Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008). The Jason Segel rom-com has the starlet playing a newlywed on a Hawaiian honeymoon. Only there’s trouble in paradise when her hubby with a chubby (Jack McBrayer) can’t figure out how to woo his wife. With the advice of rockstar Aldous Snow (Russell Brand), he eventually pleases her—and in doing so, pleases us with glimpses of Maria’s skin. But as the happy couple try more than a couple of sexual positions, Ms. Thayer’s good bits remain under wraps. The big screen tease eventually bounced back to the boob-tube to tout her cleavage in Those Who Can’t (2016-2019)—a title that could apply to Maria’s willingness to strip on camera. Come on Maria, Thay the night!
